WILLIAM M. JACKSON, farmer, P. O. London, was born in Virginia, February 29, 1820. He is a son of William and Nancy (Rea) Jackson the former a native of Pennsylvania, of Irish descent, and the latter a native of Maryland, of Welsh descent. Our subject's education was limited to the subscription schools in the old log schoolhouses. He came to Madison County with his parents in 1828 and here grew up to farm life, which he still follows. He was married in 1851 to Melinda Peterson, daughter of Michael and Susan (Baffenbarger) Peterson, and has two children -- Filmore and Eudora. Mr. Jackson is a Democrat, and he has served his county as member of the board of Infirmary Directors.
