Nicholas Moore, a native of Virginia, is believed to be one of the first settlers on Little Darby; he located on land which is now owned by John Weaver, Jr. About 1820, he, with his family, removed to Illinois, and thence to Iowa, where he died. He married Sarah Downing, by whom he had the following children, born while residing here: William, Catharine, Hannah and Athea.
